img alt="Womens fleece" src="http://www.joomla.org/images/stories/shop_womensfleece.jpg" /
pYou may have noticed the a href="http://shop.joomla.org/"Joomla Shop/a recently got a facelift to match the new Joomla.org front page design. Now, to really perk it up we've added new items too./p
pWhen your house doesn't seem to have enough official Joomla merchandise, the a href="http://shop.joomla.org/"Joomla Shop/a has you covered. Expanding the offerings of the shop are three cool new products, guaranteed to make you the envy of open source enthusiasts everywhere./p
pAutumn is coming, and with it the brisk weather and need for an awesome Joomla-embroidered lightweight jacket. The a href="http://shop.joomla.org/mens-recycled-rtek-fleece-jacket.html"Men's R-Tek Fleece Jacket/a is made from recycled material so it's both stylish and eco-friendly./p
pFor those Joomla supporters who need to lug books, a computer, files, and more around, look no further than the new urban backpack. The a href="http://shop.joomla.org/urban-backpack.html"Joomla Urban Backpack/a has a padded computer case, MP3 player pouch and chest/waist straps to make it useful on hikes. And, of course, it also has the beautiful Joomla logo embroidered on the front./p
pWomen do Joomla too, and the shop hasn't forgotten that. Adding to the fall outerwear options is the a href="http://shop.joomla.org/womens-soft-touch-hoodie.html"Women's Soft Touch Hoodie/a. This hoodie is made from Pima cotton, and due to its infusion of Modal fibers it's luxuriously soft./p
pSupport Joomla by a href="http://shop.joomla.org/"patronizing the shop/a, and get some great stuff in return./p

Joomla! Turns 3
img alt="Joomla third birthday" src="http://www.joomla.org/images/stories/joomla_balloons.jpg" /
h3Happy third birthday, Joomla!/h3
div#160;/div
divIt's hard to believe that three years have passed by so quickly. In that short time, the Joomla community has grown so much larger and stronger than we could have ever imagined.#160;Today, Google search results on Joomla yield over 100 million results. The Joomla group of Web sites serves 1 million visitors per week.br /
br /
In the past year, Joomla has released the groundbreaking Joomla 1.5, launched the a href="http://community.joomla.org/"Joomla Community Portal/a and team blogs (including the a href="http://community.joomla.org/magazine.html"Joomla Community Magazine/a and a href="http://community.joomla.org/connect.html"JoomlaConnect™/a), the a href="http://docs.joomla.org/"Joomla Documentation Wiki/a, a href="http://developer.joomla.org/"Joomla Developer section/a and our new site design./div
div#160;/div
divSince March 2007, there have been over 6 million downloads of Joomla. And yet, it feels like we are just getting geting started. We hope that you are having fun using Joomla and we encourage you to get involved in the community and help make Joomla even better for the fourth birthday celebration. There are great things in store for Joomla in the years to come!/div

The New Joomla! Security Strike Team Attacks
img src="http://www.joomla.org/images/stories/jsst_logo_200x200.jpg" alt="JSST" / pThe Joomla Project is pleased to introduce a new team focused solely on managing and improving Joomla security—the Joomla Security Strike Team—and their new home at the a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security.html"Joomla Security Center/a./p pThe JSST replaces the previous Joomla Security Team by assembling a a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security/jsst-members.html"top-notch group of Joomla experts/a, complemented by security talent recruited from outside Joomla. Together, part of their goal is to investigate and respond to security matters./p pJSST leader a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security/jsst-members/38-jsst-members/2-ircmaxell.html"Anthony Ferrara/a is excited about what this means for Joomla security. "We're already well into our first mission—a low-level code audit and a deeper look into every reported vulnerability since 1.5.0 alpha."/p pThe new JSST will call the new a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security.html"Joomla Security Center/a their home base. The Security Center provides a public presence for a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security/news.html"security issues/a and a platform for the JSST to a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security/articles-tutorials.html"help the general public better understand security/a and how it relates to Joomla. The Security Center also offers users a clearer understanding of how security issues are handled. There's also a a href="http://feedproxy.google.com/JoomlaSecurityNews"news feed/a, which provides subscribers an up-to-the-minute notification of security issues as they arise./p p"The Joomla Core Team has been planning a new security team for a few months now in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The previous team worked in relative isolation, but the new Strike Team will have a strong public-facing presence," said Ferrara./p pBut the JSST won't stop there. They fully expect the Joomla community to do its part in reporting vulnerabilities and have a href="http://developer.joomla.org/security/contact-the-team.html"created a form for such reports/a. For each verified security issue reported, the JSST will send the user a a href="http://shop.joomla.org/"free Joomla t-shirt/a./p pFerrara said, "Security is a perpetual process. We're going to make Joomla even better than it already is."/p
